Al Alciati
Sr. Vice Commander - Navy

Alfred (Al) Alciati lives in Morgan Hill, California and served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War (1969-1972), where he worked as a PO3 on the USS Constellation CVA 64, as an Illustrator Draftsman for the Integrated Operational Intelligence Center (IOIC). The IOIC was responsible for the mapping and reconnaissance of North Vietnam.

Military awards and decorations include: National Defense Service, Vietnam Service Metal, Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation.

Al served as the Commander of the John A. Berri VFW Post #6309 in Gilroy, California from 2018-2021. He was appointed to the prominent position of Aide-de-Camp in the VFW National Organization. He is currently serving as Senior Vice Commander of VFW California District 12.

Al is a graduate of Live Oaks High School in Gilroy, California and earned an Associate of Science degree in Drafting Technology from Gavilan College in Gilroy.

Al is the second cousin of John A. Berri, who VFW Post #6309 is named after. Al and his wife Sharon (currently the VFW Auxiliary #6309 Chaplain and VFW CA District 12 Chaplain) have been married for 55 years. They have 2 sons and 3 grandchildren.
